Dear Room 20 Families,
It was great seeing many of you this past Wednesday at open house! Our students were so proud to show you some of their work. Check out what we were up to in class this week:
Math: Our mathematicians continued our unit on decimals. This week, they practiced comparing and ordering decimals in both the tenths and hundredths place.
Reading: This week in reading, students wrapped up their book club books and finished their final discussions. Students also completed their historical fiction projects (based off of one of the two books that they read from the WWII time period) and will be presenting them this Friday afternoon. They did such a great job on these projects!
Writing: This week in writing, students continued to publish their literary essays based on the book Fox. They are excited to be starting a new unit next week where they will be researching and writing their own informational books!
Science: Our scientists continued the unit on energy transfers. Teams worked on creating a catapult that would launch a ball as far as it could go.
Social Studies: This week, students started their study of the Southwest region! After doing some reading and research, teams of students will be creating Google Slide presentations for each of the four states in the Southwest.
