Dear Room 20 Families,
Here's what we've been up to this week:
Math: We spent the week reviewing concepts from earlier in the year, such as multiplication, long division, finding factors and multiples, prime and compositie numbers, and fractions.
Reading: Our guided reading groups finished their books and discussions. Students filled out graphic organizers about the plot, characters/traits, and a book recommendation and used these organizers to write a letter to their reading group teacher.
Writing: Students finished publishing their informational books on the Civil Rights Movementm, which will be added to their portfolios!
Science: In science, students completed another investigation about force by experimenting with a catapult. We were also lucky to have the Museum of Science visit Birch Meadow on Thursday! Teams of students tested wind turbines and worked on creating improvements to make their wind turbines more efficient. Check out pictures of the wind turbine workshop under our photos page!
Social Studies: Students finished creating their postcards from a state in the Southeast region. They also enjoyed playing a fun review game called Kahoot! before taking the Southeast states and capitals quiz.
Reminders:
