Dear Room 20 Families,
Can you believe that there are only 20 days of school remaining this year?! We are going to be working hard right up until the last day! Check out all that we were up to this week:
Math: Our mathematicians completed the unit on decimals. As a class, we grew tremendously! We went from a 33% average on the pre-test to an 86% on the post-test! For the remainder of the year, we will be reviewing and diving deeper into measuring/drawing angles and working on our geometry skills.
Reading/Writing: This week in reading and writing, students worked on analyzing primary sources from the era of the Civil Rights Movement. They also worked on researching and taking notes from books, articles, and websites. They learned important note-taking skills and are doing a great job with it!
Science: Our scientists started a new unit on electrical energy! They learned new vocabulary and played memory to help solidify their understanding. Eventually, they will be building their own electrical cars.
Social Studies: This week, teams of students finished working on their Google Slide presentations for each of the four states in the Southwest. We will be starting the West region next week!
Reminders:
